When I went to see my aunt for the summer holiday, my youngest brother got to pick which movie we see, either Bridemaids or this!
The Guard was a critical success, five stars and all, and with a title like Bridemaids sounding like crap, I went to see The Guard.
It sucks! Oh... my... God! It sucked SO hard! It was the one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life!
I see a fat lazy Garda (Irish police) officer in a backwater village, not doing his job, tampering with evidence like drugs, threatening children, having sex with prostitutes (and telling everyone without seeing it as a problem, sin or felony) and going to Disneyworld in California BY HIMSELF! And people actuallly laughed with this crap!? I feel like the Spoony One on how feels about Final Fantasy X.
I used posters of The Guard to make the Gerry Boyle (played by Brendan Gleason) and the mugshot image of emo Dante from DmC as the base along with the background) all in photoshop within a day (alone with another drawing but that's going to be used for something special)
The Guard: Too dark to be comedy, too stupid for black comedy and too boring to be an action movie. Buy Hot Fuzz on DVD instead.

I actually completely disagree with you. Dark Irish comedy featuring Brendan Gliesan is a huge genre of films from 'Breakfast on Pluto' to 'in bruge'. It's truly a great phenomenon and I am saddened by you lack of appreciation for it. It's truly hilarious.
